WORST JOB EVER

Pros

very flexible scheduling, getting paid every week instead of every two weeks, friendly college kids that keep things pretty fun

Cons

management is incompetent, low pay, being a coordinator and doing 10x more work than everyone else as well as write ups, and verbals for only $1 more in pay, no organization, no cashiers, no hours (supposedly), company does not care about it's employees, if your lucky .25 cent raise a year, expects you to do way too much more than you have time for, absolutely no over time (so really absolutely no way to get everything done they expect), sweating your ass off because you have to call someone across the country to change the thermostat, giving the customers whatever they want so they walk all over you, no gratitude shown by management for all the work you do, expected to get credit apps however absolutely no incentive other than to wear jeans and maybe a coke that costs .75 cents, no meetings so no one ever knows what is going on, barley any training for new people, management doesn't need a degree or any kind of education (which is VERY clear once you work with this management team).

Pros

It’s a great job for people who are looking for their first job or for something while they try and get their life together.

Cons

Not a job where you can move up quickly and can get very repetitive. Overall, there’s no cons to the actual job at hand, just depends on the person.

low pay & no hours

Pros

First pick of merchandise as it comes to the floor

Cons

All the hours are given to young, high school kids who don't do any work and complain their entire shift that they have to be there. If you ask for more hours your told that payroll is maxed out and no hours are available to have. I started at a location that was just opening up so there was plenty of hours to get the store set up but a few weeks after grand opening cut down to 4 hours per week!! It is not worth the time to go there in the evenings, after I already worked my full-time job during the day, for a $40 paycheck. Not to mention the constant need to have to push the Credit Card on to every single customer, its embarrassing honestly to continuously have to ask over and over and then be disciplined because customers say no. Yes, disciplined. If you don't get enough TJX cards applied for per 100 customers you get pulled to the office for a conversation to why numbers are low. PEOPLE DONT LIKE CREDIT CARDS!
