      Don’t waste your time - False advertising

      Pros

      because this company is so desperate, the hiring process was pretty easy. It was a single interview followed by a light background check. Bare in mind I was only with them for 7 days because their communication is terrible.

      Cons

      horrible communication. My training was set in another city about two hours away. I was informed that the training the week after would be closer to home. We started on Monday, there were 14 of us with several of us staying at a hotel (paid for by the company). By Thursday we were informed the training was in another state, three states south from where we were. There would be no travel compensation, but hotels would be covered. But during training we would not be making anything - no hourly, no compensation. Only commission which would be shared. All of us have put our notice in with our previous jobs, and made preparations to begin at Mastec. To find this out during our training is completely unacceptable. 11 out of 14 of us walked out on training and went home. Don’t waste your time with this joke of a company.

      Long Hours, Insufficient Pay, Limited Growth Potential

      Friendly team environment at least at my location They do promote from with in if one of the limited opportunities become available

      Cons

      The salary would be ok for a 40 hour work week but reality is that you easily work 60+ hours a week. Upper Management micromanages every thing you do and there is no room for individual leadership with in your team Very limited advancement opportunities due to constant downsizing People are let go and not replaced, those duties are past on to others with no additional compensation for the additional responsivities. This is NOT a field work position as the job title would suggest. You are in an office/warehouse glued to your computer and phone all day.

We promote an open door policy with all MasTec management and would hope that any employee with positive thoughts or constructive comments would share with us directly so we can determine best course of action to help the entire organization. Nonetheless we recognize compensation is why we are all here and appreciate the opportunity to address our model. We focus on 3 main pillars: performance, experience and geography while providing expanding responsibilities and earnings growth, but that requires a willingness to embrace the programs available. Hopefully the opportunity to support multiple lines of business, taking advantage of the flexibility of working independently and accounting for the overall value of all the company benefits is considered when assessing value to the FTS and tech.
