Pros
Having worked at several other massage franchises, I can say Massage Heights operates as a well-oiled machine. Our retreats are organized and structured. Each team member has a well-defined role and is an active participant in the overall experience at the retreat. We are never without communication regarding our retreat goals, team goals, or individual goals. Yes, we have goals. Yes, we are expected to strive to reach them. It's not a bad thing, it's actually a very good thing. Goals are thoughtfully set and attainable with hard work. Good things happen when we meet them. By nature, massage therapists are nurturing and caring to those that are on our tables. Those same characteristics are shared with the team as well. It is not uncommon for our massage therapists to trade massages and work out a bothersome knot or a kink in any given moment. It's nice to know that someone has your back; literally. The bottom line is, our team environment promotes sharing and caring; not only to our clients but to each other as well. As a manager, all the tools are available and provided to ensure your personal success at Massage Heights. You have to want it, of course. It is not just handed to you. Motivation and initiative are required to perform well as a manger. The most encouraging part of being a manager is knowing we are not in it alone. We have a complete network of fellow managers to offer guidance and feedback. If it could happen, someone probably experienced it and they are more than willing to share it with you. This is my second time here at Massage Heights. I started here as a massage therapist several years ago. Actually, this was my first job in massage. I learned a lot back then and was even promoted but wanted to go out on my own (a story for another day). So, I have worked with many therapists, many managers, and many different owners in several different infrastructures. But now I am back, in a management role, and I feel like I am qualified in saying Massage Heights has running a business with customer and employee satisfaction down to a science. To top it off, our facility is beautiful!
Cons
Every place of employment has "cons" but I suppose it only matters to the individual. I am not saying I don't have bad days, I do. But when I do, it's okay. Serenity prayer.
