Great Place to Work

Pros

I am currently a college student. Mathnasium has been a great part time job for me because the hours are very flexible and they take into consideration that you are a student first. I also like how you can advance through the company if you are motivated.

Cons

We are only open in the afternoon so if you have class in the afternoon then it might not work in your schedule.

Pros

It had a lot of kids to work with and they have a good supply of snacks and good curriculum

Cons

Sometimes the kids are hard to deal with especially if they have mental issues like an attention disorder or autism

Not that good of a job

Pros

1.) You have a lot of free time since hours are low. Good if you are a student or have other demands in your life. 2.) Allows you to refresh on math topics while teaching children making you stronger in math.

Cons

1.) Cannot make a living from working here. I work less than 8 hours a week in total. 2). Owner can be very mean, cheap, and stingy. Owner wanted me to be a faster tutor and tutor as many kids as possible while I was working. As a result, no time to relax. 3.) Owner cuts your hours and tells you to leave as soon as the number of kids decrease before closing. Owner only keeps the lowest amount of instructors on the floor as possible to maximize profits for themselves. 4.) Owner constantly pressures you to work faster and harder even though the pay is excruciatingly low. Too much criticism.
