Pros

Clearly mapped out career path with achievable goals and managers who care to help you reach them. It's a lot of work but there's potential to make a lot of money as an advisor, if you're willing to work hard. You're also told exactly what you need to do in order to get those large commission checks, it's not some secret sauce. This is not an environment where you'll be allowed to just coast. Employee's opinions are valued and voices are heard. This is a company that values and rewards high performers. If you haven't demonstrated that you can work from home efficiently or take multiple PTO days a month while still hitting your numbers, you may be frustrated to find you're not awarded the same flexibility as others. I love working at Matic, and I never go into work feeling stressed or anxious because I know I work for a company that cares.

Cons

Sales Agents are worked very hard, there is potential for burnout, but I do think that will be addressed down the road. Agency hours are firmly set. Managers are generous and understanding with PTO, but this is not a job for those who need a flexible weekly schedule.

Pros

They have one good lead source. “Unlimited PTO.” Busy call volume and you’re expected to be on the phone 7/8 hours in the day but that is also because they don’t want to hire more employees.

Cons

Employees are regularly quitting or getting fired, they’ll mention being terminated in the initial phone interview and remind you often. Not worth the headache vs the pay. If you’re selling at the top 5% of the company you will make great money but otherwise the commission schedule doesn’t make sense. They are only focused on taking the company public with a fake it until you make it attitude. The non-tenured sales managers are not that helpful and a bit corny. You will be micromanaged more than any other previous job. Agents will steal your leads without any hesitation and they tend to show favoritism to the agents in their Columbus office or if you are in that top 5%. Nothing really special to what they are doing, basically just a larger scale insurance broker.
