      Associate Manager Program is a Joke

      Pros

      Good Benefits, they even offer benefits to same sex partners. The discount is nice unless you are a male associate. They have a lot of in store promotions that help you want to drive your sales.

      Cons

      The expectations they set for you are unrealistic. Store managers are salaried and sometimes cheat their schedule and do the bare minimum. Most of the time they aren't working 40 hours. They will lie to college graduates about their associate manager program that after 6 months of training you will "get" your own store. You have to interview and sometimes they relocate you as a first assistant and cut your pay and do not pay your moving expenses.

      Pros

      40% discount. Some promotions to offer store credit. Inside on new trends. Decent pay --for PT retail Part time and Full time options. Broadened my management views. Gained great friendships from the team members.

      Cons

      SO much selling pressure!!! The pressure to sell items and cards is ridiculous. Your hours will depend on your sales and comparison to how you did on the floor. Working in a college town, the young, college girls were often "victimized" for the credit cards due to their vulnerability. I felt terribly guilty setting them up for possible financial irresponsibility. If you are not selling at 'standard,' your performance review will be brutal. You basically have to be one of 'those' retailers that is the customers new shadow.

      Pros

      The discount is excellent, and there are a lot of incentives to sell. In general, my coworkers were friendly.

      Cons

      You don't work on commission, but you'll lose your job if you don't keep your stats up. It can get stressful.
