Pros

I love the 40% discount, music,and fun work environment. When you have the right sales associates, it's always a joy coming into work. Also, they provide great opportunities for associates, giving them a chance to advance in the company. Also, the training is very thorough.

Cons

The pressure. There is a lot of pressure to meet goals and standards on a daily basis, and that can be a heavy load on each associate- full time, part time, or management. Although we are supposed to be a "team," it doesn't always feel that way; the girls can get very competitive and they even steal sales from each other, just to make numbers for the day. There is also extreme pressure for Maurices credit card sign-ups, which is stressful on its own on a whole different level. Sometimes the hours are long and exhausting. It seems like we do a lot, in comparison with other retailers, for no extra reward.

The company has good benefits and i loved working with customers

almost everything, I agree with one of your other postings. Unrealistic goals....You can have a great associates that does not meet all their standards but as a team they are fantastic. We had a manager that fueled all the associates minds with garbage and talked about the 1st asisstant to all other employees. I am not sure where or why the DM would hire certain people. If you have issues you are to go to the DM for help but that doesnt get youu any where, except to make a hostile enviroment for you.

Pros

40% discount , good salary, ok insurance but wait 3 moths for it

Cons

the dm supports the sales associates and repremands the store manager if they have an accountability talk. The dm was not supportive, when thats suppose to be a big focus with the company. I got very little training and was held very accountable for knowing everything in 2 months.
