Pros

Supportive work environment. Great way to gain customer service experience. Hours are reasonable.

Cons

Too much emphasis is placed on getting people to sign up for credit cards that don't offer very good incentives for signing up. While you don't work on commission, your performance review and thus salary adjustments are based on the number of sales you make, number of items in a sale, etc. Maurices tries to use a boutique sales system in an environment that is not boutique, which leads to stress for the people working there who are scrambling to meet sales demands.

The company has good benefits and i loved working with customers

almost everything, I agree with one of your other postings. Unrealistic goals....You can have a great associates that does not meet all their standards but as a team they are fantastic. We had a manager that fueled all the associates minds with garbage and talked about the 1st asisstant to all other employees. I am not sure where or why the DM would hire certain people. If you have issues you are to go to the DM for help but that doesnt get youu any where, except to make a hostile enviroment for you.

The discount was very good and the benefits were good. The stores for the most part are very pretty and a good size.

Cons

The company sets very unrealistic goals. You are always harassed about opening credit cards so store managers feel like their jobs in constantly on the line. The DM constantly pits people against each other so their is no team work. The payroll hours to run your store are archaic at best. This company tries to take all your joy. DON'T WORK FOR THEM! THE RAISES ARE NON EXISTANT!
