Pros

- I’m surrounded by smart and genuinely caring people. My colleagues are awesome and part of the reason I’ve been at Maxwell for so long. - I have lots of independence in my day-to-day work and my leadership team and colleagues trust in and support me. - Coworkers show lots of appreciation for a job well done. - The company promotes transparency and honesty and the leadership team walks the walk. - I’m constantly exposed to many parts of the complex, healthcare industry, which makes building product a rewarding challenge. - Health and fringe benefits are very generous and hours are flexible. I’ve been able to take time off work to deal with family issues last minute, because my manager understands that family comes first.

Cons

- Maxwell is a startup and it’s natural for the company to go through ups and downs while trying to figure out their business strategy. Admittedly the company has changed their approach several times over the past year or two, but it’s always been after solid data analysis and weighing options. I think it’s a positive that leadership it willing to make changes quickly for the benefit of the company and is not unusual behavior for a company at this stage. - Sometimes work/life balance can be hard when it’s peak OE season, but coworkers are there to help out when you’re overwhelmed.

Pros

The people were amazing and are very talented Casual office environment The ability to work remote Great benefits Founders want to build an amazing company and are passionate about the mission The work was fun and challenging Did I mention the people?

Cons

Trust. There was not one senior leader you could go to that would hold anything in confidence. Senior leaders did try to promote a transparent environment, but you were frowned upon if you shared feedback they didn't want to hear. On the positive side, I didn't find this to be the case with some middle management. Cancerous gossip that was not stopped seemingly due to personal relationships Favoritism from senior leaders; there is a trend with this feedback.

Pros

It's exciting to continuously be building a company from the ground up. There are always new challenges to take on and opportunities to learn something new. Your work really makes an impact to the performance and growth of the company and the satisfaction of the clients. The people are amazing! It's a talented and dedicated group who make the workday enjoyable! Flexible work schedules, casual and fun environment, great benefits, and a cool workspace. Overall I've worked at many places and at many types of companies and Maxwell is certainly one of, if not the best.

Cons

The hours can be long and the workload demanding. You have to figure out how to best balance it all. If you're looking for a 9-5 where you can coast through the day, then this is not for you. Priorities and strategy can sometimes change with little warning and details as to why.
