Pros

$28/hr, 401k, insurance, CE allowance, 60% discount on veterinary services (still expensive), ability to learn from different departments.

Cons

Short staffed yet continues to hire more specialists therefore adding more stress to an already struggling team. Forced to take on additional responsibilities for other departments (because as previously stated those departments struggle). Unfair prices for owners/unjustified mark ups (ex: 100-200% markups on some medications.) Morale is very low

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback and for your years of dedication to MedVet. We truly appreciate the skill, commitment, and flexibility required of our RVTs, especially in a fast-paced, specialty environment. Finding and adding new team members has been and will always be one of our highest priorities. We are aware that our teams continue to be challenged by the increased workload. As an organization, we have developed the career framework to grow our teams and provide opportunities that will help offset burnout. We want to ensure our teams can navigate the challenging emergency and specialty veterinary medicine space and encourage employees to make their mental and physical health a priority. Resources available to employees include mental wellbeing apps, our Employee Assistance Program, and the creation of a well-being room. Utilizing PTO is always encouraged to help team members reset and recharge. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with us has been negatively impacted. Your feedback is taken seriously and shared with appropriate teams as part of our ongoing efforts to improve.

Pros

I loved my actual department.

Cons

Worst management. Managers gossip about techs. The managers boss is the worst person I’ve ever met. They’re terrible at recruiting more staff members so every department is ALWAYS short staffed. I kept seeing so many people leave with no attempt to ask the staff what could be done to keep them.

Thank you for taking the time to share you feedback on your experience at MedVet. We take reviews and suggestions seriously, as it helps us innovate and improve where necessary. MedVet focuses on cultivating an atmosphere of approachability, positivity and where each caregiver can be their authentic selves. MedVet is an independently owned organization that promotes emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing for all caregivers. Providing the top patient care for all of our patients will always be a top priority for our organization. We provide generous Paid Time Off (PTO) to eligible caregivers. Time away from work helps caregivers to rest and recharge – so that they can be their best at work as well as outside of work. PTO can be used for vacation, holidays and sick leave. We also support team members to chronic illness or injury by discussing options for protected leave of absence as well as offering short-term and MedVet paid long-term disability to eligible caregivers. Our patients and clients count on us every day, every shift, to deliver an exceptional experience. With Teamwork as one of our core values, we count on each other. We feel that timeliness and attendance is an important part of our caregiver’s job. We encourage you to connect with your local HR Partner, Clinical Manager and Hospital Director so that we can partner with you to address your concerns. Thank you for sharing your voice.
