Pros

Benefits, decent pay, set schedules, inclusive to LGBTQ+

Cons

Management and Leadership have created and contribute to a toxic gossip culture, Doctors and Support Staff using drugs and vaping inside during shifts, no meal breaks, no trainers or training system- just get thrown in.

MedVet Dayton encourages and meets regularly with team members to share concerns and address them in the moment. Furthermore, we have a detailed onboarding program to help the caregiver experience be a positive one. We take training and onboarding seriously as it is the foundation to every new hire's experience with feeling equipped to dive into their new role. MedVet is a smoke-free and drug-free environment. Keeping our patients, clients, and team members safe is top priority and we will continue to monitor and enforce our drug-free workplace policies. Pros

Great work environment, the company and employees truly care about your mental health and well being, they offer great opportunities for education and mental health opportunities. Everyone communicates and works together. I felt very welcomed, no one treated me differently because I was new. Everyone was ready to jump in and help me wherever I needed!

Cons

Only getting a 30 min lunch out of 12 hours. The first week of training was a little hectic due to some changes being made at work and it was a little unorganized but ultimately there’s not many cons at all

Pros

Met some great people. Was able to learn more advanced skills. Recently they have started to provide hands on/in person learning opportunities.

Cons

They really don't care about the employees. They care about the cashflow coming in. Unsafe patient to tech ratios, and they want more. Always short-staffed. Stingy with raises. They don't listen to their employees. Tons of miscommunication and favoritism. Nobody seems to be on the same page. People were quitting so much that they brought in some higher ups to have meetings with the employees that were left. It looked like they were going to turn things around, but nothing really has changed.

Thank you for your feedback. Providing the top patient care for all of our patients will always be a top priority for our organization. Cultivating an environment of compassion and empathy is what we strive for. MedVet prioritizes transparency and communication among all caregivers and we see these qualities as key elements for a healthy work environment. Communication continues to be a goal we work on and is our focus for our Employee Experience in 2023. Communication is truly a team-effort from leaders to the broader hospital and between our clinical departments that calls for effort from all sides. Identifying talent and passion for veterinary healthcare is important and we will continue to make hiring a priority to better support our amazing teams. The last few years a lot of work and effort has been put into analyzing job descriptions, role assignment, and fair pay within each geographic area. We are constantly re-evaluating these items and making adjustments where needed. We have made huge improvements in various areas, and it has been exciting to share these improvements with our current team members. We encourage you to reach out to their local HR Partner, Clinical Manager or Hospital Director for further discussion.
