I'm surprised to read your comments. Our Metairie location has very strong (and increasing) employee experience survey scores, so your experience clearly is not the norm. In terms of taking care of employees, here are a few things you may not be aware of...
- in 2019, we put a comprehensive career framework in place for our Clinical Services teams (which includes techs). There is a clear path for growth as you build skills. When we implemented that framework, we did annual merit increases 4 months early (which costs extra money). We also invested an ADDITIONAL 150% of that merit amount in market adjustments. Which is totally about investing in YOU.
- Our health benefits in 2019 cost, on averages, LESS than they did in 2017 with no changes in deductibles or co-pays. We also match $500 on an HSA to help our team members. MedVet pays ~70% of healthcare premiums for employees and their family members, which is not typical.
- We implemented an above-market EAP program; you get six free counseling sessions for each "event"; we want to make sure our teams get the support they need.
- We offer fully paid long-term disability, so our team members will be taken care of if something awful happens. We also offer a lot of other benefits like discount pet insurance, accident insurance, and supplemental life insurance (everyone gets $25K).
Those are just a few of the things that MedVet does with the money we earn. We also invest in new hospitals, new equipment and new team members to support our growth. We also invest in new equipment and new hospitals.
We are working hard to support you. Being a "higher up" myself, I can state without hesitation that we do not "Literally only care about making money." I care about our team members, especially when they are struggling.
