      Poor management and communication, disrespectful doctor behavior

      Pros

      The majority of vet tech staff is friendly and helpful. They understand how difficult the job is and how stressful the environment can be. The majority of the doctors are friendly and do not use their status against the rest of the staff.

      Cons

      Multiple negative, disrespectful encounters with some doctors. I have been ignored when trying to communicate with doctors. I have been yelled at by doctors. They lack basic respect and appreciate for those that are there to help make their job possible. Communication between some departments is non-existence leading horrible customer service. Some managers are management in name only. I have gone to my manager for help and support in doing my job and was given no help.

      Pros

      They had an excellent training program for me the first 3 weeks, amazing benefits, good coworkers, and I have learned SO much. They're also good about rotating who stays late and on call for weekends, people are always really helpful when you ask

      Cons

      Never know how busy your day will be like coming in, services are expensive, have to work holidays, there are a lot of people so it's easy to get lost at first and miscommunicate between departments

      Work life balance exists!

      Pros

      I cannot be more relieved to have finally found a company that supports a work life balance and has leaders in place that actually understand their team is made of humans! During the interview process, I had a gut feeling immediately after meeting my future boss that the work environment was fueled by communication, room to grow and learn, and a team effort. After being on the team for a month, my gut couldn't have been more right.

      Cons

      I currently do not have a pet and working for MedVet is simply killing my restraint to wait to welcome a pet into my home. So much harder to hold out with so many pet lovers in the company!
