There is very good work life balance, you learn a lot here, MedVet cares about the employees, there is opportunity to move up into tech positions, yearly raises, and of course the animals.

We're glad to hear that you have had a pleasant experience with MedVet SLC. Establishing a work-life balance for all of our employees is a priority and we are happy to hear that you have created that balance for yourself. Make sure to discuss PTO around holidays with your Clinical Manager, as you may be able to use your PTO on holidays when it is planned ahead of time and coverage is established. We are always encouraging our employees to advance within the company and it's great that you recognize that and have a plan in place for yourself to grow into new positions with us as well. Thank you for your feedback!

On Behalf of Hospital Director: We are very sorry to hear you are unhappy with your experience. MedVet New Orleans encourages a culture of teamwork, compassion, and empathy. If team members feel uncomfortable in any situation local management, our HR partner, and regional management are always available and interested in understanding these issues and working on a resolution. We take our team member satisfaction and engagement seriously. We work hard to ensure our team members are healthy and have a safe work environment. We are always looking for new and better ways we can improve this experience. We encourage and welcome thoughts, suggestions, and ideas from team members. The last few years a lot of work and effort has been put into analyzing job descriptions, role assignment, and fair pay within our geographic area. MedVet strives to provide a robust benefit package with Medical, Vision, Dental, STD, LTD, life insurance, 401K, uniform allowance, CE Funds and scholarships, and PTO. We are constantly re-evaluating these items and making adjustments where needed. Within these guidelines every employee has the opportunity to discuss career goals with managers and obtain their help working through a plan that involves both work by the employee as well as resources and support from MedVet. MedVet New Orleans strives to lead our region in Emergency, Cardiology, Medical Oncology, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Rehabilitation, Critical Care, Nursing, Dermatology, and Surgery services. We are constantly evaluating ways to keep team members up to date with ongoing training, continuing education, and wet labs. We recognize that we have had a drastic increase in patients this year. We are actively recruiting for many open roles throughout the process and are spending time each day reviewing applicants and interviewing to fill these open roles. I would love to discuss your concerns and suggestions for improvement, please feel free to reach out via email or phone call.

Pros

Everyone at this location is so nice, and willing to teach you if you’re willing to learn. Teamwork is a huge part of this hospitals reputation, and it’s so great to be working in that type of environment! I love being excited to come to work everyday, and the manager of the CSR/CST is hands down the most amazing person to work with/for! She is the greatest!

Cons

It can super busy, but that’s to be expected working at a 24 hour ER, also on the night shift weekends it would be nice to see another doctor added on so the one doctor working isn’t frazzled from being so busy. Also, maybe one more CSR on the night shift as well

We’re happy to hear that you’re able to lean on your teammates for support and continuously learn from them as well. With teamwork being one of our core values, we are always pleased to hear when our team members receive welcoming support within their departments and hospitals. We are also glad to hear that you have a great relationship with your management team as well, as that is huge is promoting growth and positivity within our organization. We understand the stress of emergency medicine and encourage you to take advantage of voicing your concerns to your Clinical Manager, while utilizing your resources and benefits to help alleviate stress factors. We are always looking to add talented individuals to our team. We are confident that this will help provide support to our teams in this unique period of veterinary medicine.
