Pros

MedVet is the first veterinarian emergency and referral practice that I've been at that truly seems to value both patient and employee wellness. I've been here less than a year, but my experiences have been very positive so far. Management is very communicative. The culture and values of the company actually seem to follow through.

Cons

ER Veterinary medicine is a high burn-out practice no matter where it is given the long hours (especially on overnights) and support staff that is often stretched thin.

Pros

Every member of this team is committed to high standards of care and passionate about staying on the cutting edge of innovations in the industry that open up possibilities for saving more lives. Compassion and empathy are practiced and prioritized not only with clients but between team members as well. It is a supportive work environment where it is obvious the team strives to be the best. The CEO is someone who is easy to love and stand behind.

Cons

There isn't a lot of built in advancement, and opportunities to own aspects of the job are not delegated well or communicated to anyone below manager levels.

Pros

- decent benefits package - paid time off - opportunity for overtime - clean facility - pet care discounts for staff

Cons

- front desk is consistently understaffed - hired for first shift but pressured to work second - vet staff are not focused on animal comfort; the techs and staff can be rough with uncooperative animals, especially during COVID protocol that prohibits owners from entering the building - some vet staff is not empathetic and I have witnessed them mock pet owners while inside with their pets - hourly pay is lower than average for area & position
