Pros

Everyone consistently practices high quality, collaborative medicine. The benefits package is pretty inclusive, even offering pet bereavement leave. They're generally receptive to receiving feedback on how things can be done differently or better.

Cons

It's a growing organization, which means that there can be a lot of change (some struggle with frequent change), but it's usually for the best.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We have done a lot of the past few years to help improve our employee experience. And we are absolutely open the things we can do differently or better. Please make sure you participate in the upcoming survey, which launches on August 14.

Pros

-Depending on your role/manager there is an abundance of work/life balance (WFH when needed, rarity to have long hours, lots of colleague support) -The company truly does have a long-term vision which creates a lot of job security/stability. - Everyone is focused on the mission, no matter what your position is. So that makes for a really collaborative and supportive environment.

Cons

The cost of insurance is a little high

Thanks so much for your note. I'm glad things are off to a good start for you. Just a comment on health insurance – MedVet is self-insured, which means we actually pay for all of our team member claims by ourselves and our carrier (UHC) just processes things for us. On average, our premiums are lower than they were in 2017, before we were self-insured. A lot of our team members participate in a high deductible health care plan, which can be a really good approach, especially if you are relatively young and healthy. But it can be complicated, so feel free to reach out to Health Advocate if you have questions (you can link to that resource on SPOT).

Sounds like you are in Chicago, since that hospital is one of only eight Level 1 trauma centers in the world. We have had some management changes, with our Medical Director going back to being a FT surgeon and an interim HD. But we do have a new leadership team in place who is very experienced. We've also given all our our Clinical Services team members pay adjustments in addition to their annual merit pay increases. So we're making progress.
