Don’t trust anyone

Business Outlook

Pros

People you work with, hybrid environment

Cons

Be careful who you trust. Leaders look out for those they like no matter how well you are doing. And speaking of the leaders - most are AWFUL at their role and don’t understand much of the business or how to negotiate but again they’re part of “the crew” or as some would say “boys club.” This place is struggling and morale is LOW. The culture has tanked - was the reason many stayed here but now it’s why people are jumping ship. (That and the pay!) Get out while you can.

Pros

People on the Medix team are generally very nice but this is probably the only pro

Cons

They pay you next to nothing and expect you to devote all waking hours to the company. You will be asked to log on hours early, and expected to stay on hours late until your numbers are hit. The people you meet during training will show a facade of happiness, but once you start to meet the real teammates, you'll see that everyone is burnt out, miserable, and considering quitting every day. They'll tell you you can make hundreds of thousands in commission, but their commission structure is one of the worst I've seen among staffing agencies, and you could make much more taking your talents elsewhere. Not to mention the only way to really make decent money here is to give up your personal life. They only care about sales, and recruiters are not valued even though the entire company's business plan is dependent on the success of their recruiters. Leadership is questionable, most of them have never worked anywhere else and are jaded and out of touch since they've never known anything else. I can't think of a single low to mid level employee I met who was truly happy there. To all the college grads who just really need a job, I promise you, you can find better.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME

Business Outlook

Pros

None - do not waste your time.

Cons

Interview is extremely misleading. Once you start, you are expected to hit unattainable metrics during your time as a “trainee”. I was told that the trainee period is simply for learning, but once a week, you will be lectured and threatened to be fired if you do not hit your “goals” which you are forced to set by management (you are not able to set your own goals). Once again, all of this is literally a month into the position. Management will lie about anything and everything. I was told the position was remote, in fact it is still being advertised as remote, but they were sending us back into the office 3 days a week. Oh, did I mention recruiters only make $18/hr? You could go work pretty much anywhere else and have a better experience (and make more money) than at Medix. I should have known when I started and realized every single person in the office had only been there a year or less - the turnover rate is insane for a reason. Huge waste of time.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience working as a recruiter in our Nashville office. Our core purpose is to positively impact lives, and we are sorry to hear that this was not the case with your experience. Transparency is something we take very seriously, so we are very sorry to hear that the position was not what you were expecting. Your thoughts and feedback will be shared with our leadership team.
