Pros

-Hire people with low to no experience -Promise recent grads the world.... and absolutely fail to deliver.... that turned out to be a con

Cons

- Pay is very low - Work you to the ground (55+ hours a week) - Disagreements get very heated, and even angry at time - Management does not know what they are doing, but will still tell you to "follow in their foot steps" -Absolutely play favorites; to a very obvious extent - Very unprofessional, very inappropriate with many comments made, involve themselves way too much in employees personal lives - The "big plans" for the company change weekly - Pointless meetings daily

Pros

Medix (actually probably the staffing industry in general) is a pretty great stepping stone for recent college grads. It's a company that is growing quite quickly which gives you the ability to make more of an impact at 22 than you would at most organizations. You can also work your way up fairly quickly too if you are willing to work hard. They put value into their young staff which I don't think a lot of companies out their can say the same. You gain some really great industry and sales skills in this job as both a recruiter and account executive that you can take any where if you ever decide to leave.

Cons

If you are looking for a job that is a "work to live" then the staffing industry really isn't for you. It's a fast paced, sales job that's going to require that you work more than 40 hours a week. Some weeks will definitely be more demanding than others with certain projects but the reward (commission) makes up for that. Also, this is a service sales....meaning that your success depends on a contractor showing up for work and doing a great job. This is probably the biggest challenge of the job.

Pros

Job availability for entry level students that are just out of college They were flexible with time off if you really needed it

Cons

$35,000 bas pay for a 60 hours work week and the commission structure was nothing to brag about If they were going to pay so low they should have paid 100% for health benefits or paid for a vacation lol The commission structure was demoralizing Someone living in Pittsburgh, PA making 35K and someone living in Rockville, MD for 35K does not add up. It was inhuman and unrealistic for the company to think that someone could live off of 35K in MD. If you are not living with roommates, on someones couch, or with your parents...this is not the job for you!
