Very secretive, suspicious, and distrustful culture. They preach “family comes first” but as soon as you try to put your family first, even if it’s only a mild inconvenience to the company, they’re quick to remind you that “prioritizing work provides for your family, so putting work first in actually putting family first”. They don’t mean anything they say. They also “don’t believe in cost of living raises”, there are no annual performance reviews or raises, and they don’t believe adjusting wages for inflation. People regularly go 5+ years without a single raise, and upper management sees no problem with effectively cutting everyone’s pay year after year, even during years with record breaking profits. Do not expect to be paid fairly, and expect to stay at the exact same wage for years at a time. But if playing games and having company wide competitions a handful of times a year is more important than being payed fairly or treated with basic respect, this could be the place for you. Also, do not expect any career growth or promotions. Unless one of the handful of department managers leaves, every position is a dead end. You work your machine or desk job forever unless they move you laterally to a different department. There are plenty of people here doing the exact same job for the exact same pay for the last 10-20 years. Also, be prepared to swing drastically between absolutely no OT opportunities, to be demanded to work exorbitant amounts of OT at a moments notice. Also be prepared for management to use the excuse that OT is a substitute for raises/fair wages. Everyone I know has been told repeatedly that “they don’t need a raise because they get a lot of OT when the company forces it”.
