Pros

Hours are up for grabs you can get as many as you want. Premium pay 2.50 on the weekends. Ability to move up within the company.

Cons

Hourly pay rate. Treatment from general office. Treatment in general from management. Un-attainable daily tasks. Turnover. No loyalty perks. little to no vacation. Long hours even if you dont want them with less then 6 hours between shifts.

Pros

I'm really not sure there are any pros to working at Menards

Cons

This company is the problem with this country. You are given an hourly wage, and that wage barely goes up. When it's time for a "review" of your raise, you have to quality for it. Then you have to pass some sort of test, and your raise ends up being around five cents, and if you are really smart, it's a ten cent raise. The company makes a lot of money because they dont pay employees anything. They keep there wages the same, and all the money goes to the top. Rich getting more rich, while those who actually put in the 70 hours stay the same. The company does not care at all about it's employees, and your GM/Assistant GM's treat the team members like absolute crap. I've worked at the company for about a year now, and can tell you first hand, this company is not a good place to work.

Pros

- Coworkers are awesome. - Gained exposure to job functions that I used to catapult my career into a much better postion.

Cons

- The company culture is very toxic. No room for creativity or innovation whatsoever. - Bullying is the management style here, maybe because the majority of management has no college education. - Everyone freaks out when the General Office is at the store. - The pay is garbage, especially for management. - The health insurance offered is unaffordable. No 401k matching at all. - If you are in management, good luck having a life outside of work. You will "clo-pen" at least twice a week and will be expected to work 48+ hours a week. - As long as you work for this company you will work every other weekend, even the General Managers. - Unrealistic expectations when it comes to making payroll. - NO loyalty at all, you can expect your job to be threatened on a daily basis.
