      Unrealistic Expectations

      Pros

      Company is fast paced and growing quickly. Challenging work environment. If you work in HR or Marketing, please ignore the cons below as they do not apply to you.

      Cons

      Unattainable deadlines are given with limited resources. Forget work/life balance. Expect 12 hour days with work on weekends in order to attempt to meet the deadlines. No gratitude will be shown for your additional efforts.

      Thank you for this feedback. Working at a high performance organization is never dull! We set the bar high and our employees never cease to exceed it. We make a point of recognizing and rewarding success but we understand at times the rapid evolution of our business may be challenging to manage. There are times where all of us will need to put in extra hours to accomplish a common goal, however, employees should know they are always empowered to determine how their personal and professional lives integrate.

      Pros

      I’ve worked in commercial and regulated defense, medical nuclear industry manufacturing for over two decades. The experience enables me to appreciate exciting, healthy places to work where contributions make a difference and are recognized. Mercury is such a place to work and is giving me my most rewarding professional experience to date. Mercury’s people are talented, committed and work well together, at all levels and across all business domains. Management is inspired, effective and creates the healthy culture that transcends up and down and across the whole enterprise.

      Cons

      If there is a con and there really isn’t, then the drive to Andover is further now we have moved our office there.

      I love this company and what it does for its customers

      Pros

      I've been with Mercury for longer than I wish to admit, having joined the company during one of the previous tech booms. I joined for the team, the technology, and the mission, and I would join up again today for the same set of reasons. The work environment has remained dynamic, terribly challenging since day 1, and I love the camaraderie which is the heart and sole of why I think customers want to do business with Mercury. I've had the pleasure of going to a handful of customer locations where they have shown us what Mercury, its technology, engineering prowess, and product capabilities are doing for their customers. The new facilities and collaboration tooling is fun to use.

      Cons

      I've seen through my friends in other industries the level of engineering agility that they are using as a weapon to pursue growth and customers. I'm struggling a bit with how to adopt and use some of those practices at Mercury.

If there are specific technologies or applications that your friends in other industries are using, we would love to hear more about them and we are sure your manager would too. In the past year, most if not all Mercury locations established new engagement teams. The teams are always looking for new members and we welcome you to join at any time. Recently, Mark Aslett met with the leads of engagement teams to review engagement activities and plans to help us better align with the needs of employees in each site. Lifelong learning has continued to be of utmost importance and the talent team has been working to bring more tangible training opportunities to employees.
