Pros

You'll be dealing with knowledgeable people and some good tools to assist you in your work. You'll gain great industry experience and you'll learn a lot.

Cons

As part of gaining the experience your pay will start to lag behind what Mercury is willing to pay. When a number of co-workers looked at their job titles they realized they were 10-20% underpaid compared to industry average.

Mercury is evolving their Total Rewards philosophy to offer a strategic array of programs to attract, motivate, reward, develop, engage and retain our employees. We look at Total Compensation, and base salary as just one component. We offer a competitive incentives and benefit program using relevant external market data in all of our programs to make sure we are competitive in our pay and benefits. Recently, we also implemented a career structure to help our employees understand how they can advance and develop their career with Mercury. Thank you again for taking the time to leave this review. Technically Challenging Place to Work

The technology and programs we engage in at Mercury Defense Systems is cutting edge and challenging. The types of skills required keeps engineers engaged and at their very best.

Cons

Big corporation struggles which are typical of continuously evolving and growing corporations.

First, thanks very much for the feedback regarding introducing “corporate wide changes”. We always try to fully test and vet changes to technology and process, prior to deployment. Over the past eighteen (18) months, we have focused on deploying technologies to help Mercury scale and improve communications and collaboration across the company. While our intentions have been good, based on your feedback, we could have done a better job communicating our plans, the reasons for the changes and training employees.
