Pros

I love the values and mission started by the Sisters of Mercy. The focus is truly of providing the best health care available to all regardless of their ability to pay for these services. Pay is competitive with the region for most employees.

Cons

Promotions within Information Technology are rare unless you embrace moving to St Louis, MO. Many of the current leaders were promoted by nepotism as opposed to skill, ability, or experience. Most of these bumble along doing their own thing, ignoring the directives of upper management. When asked for status reports all report "All is well", move along nothing to see here. Upper Management seeks keen to do so, never making any real progress or meaningful change.

Pros

flexible, remote, great company to work for; pay was decent; would highly recommend to anyone looking for a coding job who needs experience; it's a good place to start out in the coding field; i learned a lot through working with EPIC

Cons

large facility and you don't know who you're working with; i worked remotely and if i had a question i wasn't sure who to talk to; pay was good for someone starting out; i left there and went to a job where i was making double what i made at Mercy

Organization has been in a downward spiral over the past 3 years.

Pros

Good colleagues and people on the front lines that truly care about the patient's well-being.

Cons

Corporate executive leader literally said, "I have the reputation for being a slave driver" and "I'm going to crack the whip". Crazy, right!?!? That is exactly how you are observed as a co-worker, a slave to the pointless initiatives that come out of the endless, self-promoting meetings at the executive level.
