Pros

I have learned a lot from this job. I didn't know what a processor was or looked like before this job. Now I feel confident in building a computer. Very flexible in scheduling. Doesn't start off at minimum wage. Yearly raises. Everyone tries to be friends. Great culture. Great training. Moving to to sales floor is easy if you want it. Micro Center is doing well as a business. It is not going anywhere so job stability is also a plus.

Cons

It is all about plans. if you want to move to the floor, you could have a masters in IT but if you do not sell plans, forget about it. It is not your average cashier job. You cannot just ring up and tell the customers to have a good day. You must ask for their information, and make sure you ask for plans.

Pros

Commission based means potential to earn big bucks if you have repeat clients. Really good job to develop interpersonal skills and develop selling technique. Great benefits - medical, dental, vision, legal -- Even for part timers.

Cons

Salaries are wildly varied, some people make double or triple what others make. Working here is more of a transient job, people come and go very quickly. Hours are long, especially if you have a manager that is OCD.
