Pros

A very wide portfolio (almost too wide)

Cons

Yet another merger and company is still in limbo. Over the past few years it seems MF has a strategy of acquisition and merger to continue to keep shareholders optimistic, however the employees are treated to turnover, layoffs, drastically delayed sales quotas and lack of supporting services (marketing, accurate HR and internal sales reporting).

Pros

Flexible work hours as you are responsible for your projects. Benefits are good, healthcare, PTO, 401k etc. Product portfolio is good.

Cons

Sales ! With no Sales there have been enormous layoffs. Professional Services Management only cares about billable utilization, they don't care about employees. Forget about any paid training. Train yourself well in new technolgies from outside sources so you are prepared when you get laid off. Support has been outsourced to lower cost regions where there is high churn rate. So no deep product expertise any more in support. They will only do basic stuff and then log anything complex for R&D creating huge backlog for R&D. R&D is trying to do its best, but need better Sales, Services Management.

Pros

Decent benefit package including a company match for 401K

Cons

Company purchases software companies and packages and then sqeezes every bit of revenue out of those products. Customer support is cut back, sales are focused on license verification, even extracting extra license fees for obsolete products. On an annual basis look for support persons and resources to decrease. Layoffs and reductions are a regular occurance. Products are managed and evaluated in 'silos', Very little strategic direction between product lines.
