Pros

The people who do the day to day running of things continue to be wonderful

Cons

You may think because of the timing of things, that this was driven by the pity city explosion. That was really just the cherry on top. - 4 massive rounds of layoffs in three years (only one of which was related to COVID) - Only one person in my direct up line has any experience doing the job of my department at this or any other company (not my boss’s boss, my boss’s boss’s boss, or my boss’ boss’ boss’ boss). - Benefits cut - Usually fiscally conservative Herman Miller went and took a bet that COVID would end in 2021 and bought a billion dollar direct competitor. - Spinning down core parts of our business that made Herman Miller and Knoll famous for new, untested parts of the business. - Nonexistent culture. It’s not Herman Miller’s, it’s not Knoll’s, it doesn’t exist. Could be because of the high turnover of the people who have worked 10, 15, 20+ years at both companies with nothing to fill the void.

Pros

Unlimited PTO for Salaried employees Director of Customer Experience, Lisa Feig has been compassionate and a wonderful leader during a tough and messy time at MillerKnoll.

Cons

Don't be fooled by the 5 Star reviews after March 28th. This is MillerKnoll's PR team's failed attempt to fix the CEO's mistake after having a meltdown at a meeting when confronted with frustration with not getting a bonus and failed salary increases. Their systems are outdated along with their so called culture. They are unable to adapt and it's clear that the company's lack of technological know-how is causing major issues. Even scheduling meetings correctly and on time is difficult to some. Hourly employees get the short end of the stick when it comes to benefits. You must buy vacation hours if you wish to have more than 10 days of PTO. Hourly employees only get 3 paid holidays off.

Pros

Hybrid work between in office and remote

Cons

Since Herman Miller and Knoll have fused together, it has been misery as a legacy employee. The current CEO is extremely metric driven and money hungry. She refuses to acknowledge her poor manner of speaking to all employees in the previous town hall meeting. She told employees to stop living in “pity city” after being asked how to stay motivated when we are told we will not be getting raises or bonuses. Poor excuse of a leader when you know she is making millions and has no problem getting by without a raise of bonus. Do yourself a favor and skip applying for this place. It’s a toxic working environment.
