Pros

The one thing I can say about working in the department I am in, is all of my coworkers are amazing people. These people truly are team players here, or so I can speak for my department. Team Leads are great as well. The opportunities to learn about people are endless. If you're a people person, this is your job. The company has great benefits as well with not only offering health/dental/vision for free (if you choose that plan) but also giving us the opportunity to have our extracurricular activities paid for. Hair cuts/gym memberships/you name it.

Cons

Compensation falls short here. While all of the benefits and things they pay for, they really could afford to pay the people in our department a little better. Departments lack the ability for growth. Ex: associate/lead/manager. There aren't enough opportunities to grow, which means no opportunity for more money. Departments are very wishy-washy with their protocols. Understanding that this is a young company, there still is a lack in confidence that I feel could be strengthened if their interdepartmental communication made a pretty extreme improvement. Your job description changes every 3-4 months, adding a bigger work load to your day, which can be overwhelming. Although one of the core values of this company is to constantly evolve, you are given little-to-no-time to get caught up with everything new that has been put on your plate. Other means of compensation are also lacking. The ability to receive commission in any other department is non-existent, which can be frustrating when you're doing other peoples work, who do receive these benefits.

Thank for your review and taking the time to provide insight in the areas that you love and the areas you wish MINDBODY would improve in. We absolutely love the people at MINDBODY and the contributions they make to our success in growing into the leading business management SaaS software for the wellness industry. We’ve come a long way and have a long road ahead to continue to be a leader. We hold regular cross functional leadership meetings to address the issues of communication among departments, and are currently completing a project to link all our databases together and implement an internal intranet to help more easily disseminate information across the organization. This is in addition to regular team meetings held by leads and managers. Over the last year we’ve increased our headcount significantly which is likely contributing to the communication challenge, but we believe it also shows opportunity internally to move laterally or up within the organization. The majority of promotions occur from within and we encourage qualified employees to apply to positions that are in line with their skills and passion. In 2015 several leadership positions will be posted and while fewer and more competitive than frontline and individual contributor roles, there will be opportunity for those interested in a more challenging and higher level of responsibility within the company. We encourage you to speak to your supervisor about compensation and why commission is given or not given to certain positions in order to gain clarity. Commission roles are used for sales reps responsible for selling core product and other services to prospects and clients and are held to strict standards to ensure quality of a sale. Commission based roles are challenging and competitive and while a consistent salary is not guaranteed, it provides equal risk and opportunity for income. We encourage you to discuss this opportunity further with your supervisor or talk to those in commission based roles to learn more about whether or not it’s a good fit for you.
