Pros

Good compensation package and equipment provided.

Cons

Not authentic company but rather ticking the boxes of a checklist of what a “cool” company should do. Working culture is not fun. Time is spent mostly planning. However, things are then implemented quickly without following good engineering practices. Very hierarchical and bureaucratic. Managers are bossing around. It is a lot about showing off and bragging about any small thing you delivered rather than actually being good at your work. You won’t be able to work on the stuff you enjoy, but it will be chosen for you. Quarterly OKRs is just something ridiculous which usually consumes 2-3 weeks of pointless admin work. The tools used internally are chosen poorly. Tech stack is old. The laptop is barely running most likely due to all the spyware installed and bad VPN. The positive reviews are most likely written by the people who have never worked in an actually good company and are blinded by the Miro swag and gifts they receive. All the negative reviews are on point.

Pros

- Good salary and benefits

Cons

- No clear career path. - No good communication between teams (passive-aggressive behaviours). - The list of values is a joke. Internally nobody cares about them. - People in higher positions take credit for things they never work on. - HR is absent when it comes to solving issues or improving culture. - Managers are in a deadlock. They can't do anything. There is no chance of communication penetrating higher positions.

Pros

Great product and average market salary.

Cons

Culture and management: Engineering culture and leadership is just terrible - is a mix of dictatorship and micromanagement. They claim that they want to hire talented engineers, but what they actually need is coding monkeys that do what they have been told and keep their professional opinion by themselves. All technical decisions are made by people that don't even write code and you just forced to implement what they want even though sometimes it doesn't make any sense. A lot of paper work and bureaucracy + micromanagement instead of actually delivering features. They talk a lot about "Miro culture", being a team to win the world, but management don't value and ignore honest feedback, and do nothing to actually improve even a little bit existing 10 years old terrible development process and engineering culture. Most of the engineering management/leadership lack soft skills/any sort of charisma. Codebase: Codebase is just huge piece of legacy Monolith that was under development for 10+ years without any code/architecture quality control/vision and just a huge mess. No ownership for a lot of components and a lot of critical parts are not covered by tests properly because no one cared (some still don't) about engineering practices. Most critical part of the system is built with some proprietary framework that no one understands properly and widely misused which leads to even more mess. Just avoid as much as you can, don't waste your time.
