Pros
-Casual work environment (shorts, flip-flops are OK) -Middle management is helpful -Collaborative team environment -Incredibly personable and nice people working in the company -Beautiful HQ location (if you don't mind afternoon traffic) -Centrally located Houston office (only good though if you live in the loop)
Cons
-Alienation of other employees from acquired companies -Lack of communication between HQ and other offices -"Our way or the highway" approach to problem solving -Right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing sometimes (ex: reimbursing gasoline expenditure one month, then not the next, stating it shouldn't have happened in the first place) -Acquired employees jobs changed without any choice in the matter, leaving valuable skills unused -Incredibly slow approval process for content creation/changes -No innovation...mentality of employees is that they need to acquire another company to get a solution they want to utilize and/or sell -When Bridgeway Software was acquired, laid off execs predicted they only purchased company for the client base...this was proven to be true when less than 2 months later, Mitratech's VC partner sold Mitratech...the Bridgeway purchase was just a padding for sale.
