C suite leadership does not exist. Product is dates and appears from the early 1990s.

Pros

Great people to work with. They actually have you take multiple personality tests pre-hire and post-hire which I didn't think much of at the time, especially after some personal friends who would have made great teammates didn't pass the litmus test, but somehow it did manage to get us a really great crew of smart and humble people. Great work/life balance. Open PTO truly open as long as you didn't totally take advantage, at least on my team. The CEO and people at the top valued transparency and it definitely showed. And lastly, after a lot of time to reflect, I was laid off with a huge number of others, but they gave me 6 months and severance and communicated though-out. They also offered some other job finding aides as well. Also, enjoyed working closely with the developers on the product and they truly did take in our feedback. It felt collaborative. And I did see several people move into new roles they wanted. They did honestly seem to support these transitions as long as the person took necessary steps. And, I found it to be more diverse than my role afterward and what is generally seen at software companies. There are a number of women in CS management roles and some as engineers and engineers in test. Also, it felt multi-ethnic. Having a more representative work environment made me feel more comfortable collaborating, contributing, learning, and asking questions in general.

Cons

Heavy workload, huge range of customers from people who do not know how to turn their computers on/off all the way to lead developers. Venture capitalist funded though the groups seem a bit more ethical than some others and our not based in the US. Pay was a little below market. And frustrating working with teams of companies that had been acquired. They would sometimes not respond at all and they would keep a lot of important information private because they didn't want other teams to mess something up. Perhaps well intended, but it made resolution across products (many of which work together, like 2-3 relationships) very long and painstaking when they didn't always need to be. Also, if you want exciting start-up downtown, this is not the place. They have free snacks and ping pong and video games, but otherwise it's not trying to be the coolest place, but it is a relaxed and homey feeling place which is why people stick around a long time there.
