What a disappointing experience!!!

Pros

They are a large company and constantly growing. I hear they offer good benefits for full time employees but I didn’t experience that.

Cons

They are growing too fast to know or even care what is going on at the site level. I had very high hopes for them as a management company but those hopes were quickly dashed. I walked into a mess of an office, with a terrible manager that clearly was not acclimating to the company well. The manager lied about me to other coworkers and probably even their superior. Morale was atrocious! High turnover and constant talk among employees of crappy pay and wanting to quit. Training was subpar, I believe through no fault of the trainers. I blame the company for pushing employees too hard and not making them feel supported. They come across as greedy and completely out of touch with their properties.

We are so sorry to hear that you didn't receive the training you were looking for. As we continue to grow, sometimes we work in fast paced environments where people are learning as they go. Our training department is now over a year old, and we are working to provide more robust training to support our growth. We wish you the best of luck wherever your career has taken you.

Career Ender

Pros

Pay was ok. Commissions structure was good.

Cons

Serious disconnect with issues property managers face. Favoritism, nepotism, is rampant. No opportunities for career or self improvement. Regionals isolate and alienate property managers from their staff. What happened to me, while at Monarch, made me question my abilities, memory, education, and shattered my self confidence and self-image. I felt I could do nothing as a property manager without getting consent of the regional. I had been a very independent, competent, and confident property manager in the past. Being told that I lacked common sense and skills, and abilities on an almost daily basis really affected me. Monarch has destroyed my life.

Pros

I cannot think of a single positive thing to say about the company or any of its employees at all. Negative experience from the start.

Cons

As others have mentioned, upper management is horrible. They don't listen to the concerns of those who are pretty much lining their pockets. That's all its about to them. Compared to other property management companies the pay is lacking. The staff are poorly trained and unprofessional, being in the industry for many years I can say Monarch was my least favorite company to work for, why? Because they aren't about housing needs. They are about investments as the name implies. No concern for residents or their needs. Which is unfair in property management, because you're providing someone with the most basic of needs. The foundation of this company is all wrong.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on how we can improve. Yes we are for-profit business, but, that certainly doesn't mean we care about our residents. Happy residents choose to live with us for a longer time, which is a win for both sides. We are sorry to hear that you have chosen to move on from Monarch. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
