Pros
They will train/ develop you, they value team work, and offer great benefits! There is some opportunity for advancement.
Cons
Salary was non- negotiable at the time. Since this is a contract company you are not working for the hospital but rather are viewed as a contractor and employee of Morrison. Due to this, it is very challenging to have certain things implemented or simply to have the hospital staff follow current standards/guidelines. Nothing can be done if RN's turn off tube feeds overnight (because they don't want to clean butts). It was sometimes impossible to get patients to goal rate (because they think 50 ml/hour is "too much for the stomach to handle") yet no signs of intolerance when questioned. Overall, there was no concern regarding nutrition except by a handful of great nurses and doctors. Overall, I can say that our management team was excellent and very aware of our challenges. Unfortunately, we are there "to make the client happy". Not surprising the hospital I was at runs all the food service directors either crazy or out of there.
