Pros
Hire diverse. Pay is decent. Occasionally given good opportunities. Some sites are less toxic than others. When I started, my first site was very good. I got recognition for my hard work although many of the issues i listed below were present. My third site was OK. Some sites are safe.
Cons
Women are rarely given the same opportunities even when earned . Sexual harassment claims usually result in victim being displaced. Safety is only given lip service. Disrespectful behavior is allowed. Pay raises, promotions and positions are given based on relationships (friends, family, romantic). Reviews are rarely given and they have a "policy" that on a scale of 1-5, no one is supposed to get above a 3 on any category of their review. Transparency is almost nonexistent. Ethical complaints are not acted upon within the company. Certain ethnicities are treated badly. Retaliating is common against those who vocalize issues. Blacklisting extremely common. Accountability and recognition rarely happens. Quite a few manipulators at the top. Some people have a job because they give higher ups money to get that job.
