Pros

Great people, lasting friendships. Diverse work. Challenging work. Fun work atmosphere.

Cons

"Boy's Club". Women are seen as secretaries (speaking from an office perspective, not the field) Even now, after being gone for 3 years, I can see via LinkedIn that many of the men I worked with have been promoted to higher positions and EVERY female I worked with has the same exact position. Very low salary increases even after you have been told you did a great job during you review. I do not believe men were told this.

Stable company; great benefits; convenient metro location

Cons

Certain departments have strict core hours, with NO flexibility. Also restrictions on how and when you can use PTO. If you value your work/life balance, be sure you have clear expectations on hours and PTO up front and factor this in your decision as to whether or not you want to work here. Mortenson is not in the current millennium in regards to work/life balance.

Pros

Many opportunites from coast to coast. One needs to be location flexible. You will be asked to relocate a lot.

Cons

The company's large size makes it impersonal to the individual's needs. Field project teams are isolated. Corporate management is disconnected from the individual's personal and professional issues. i.e. - one had better like and be liked by your field team or you will be in for a long job.
