Pros

Solid pay and benefits. Unlimited PTO.

Cons

Strategies and priorities seem to change every week. Constantly in execution mode with no sign of air. Talented leaders and ICs have come and gone in the last 12 months, which tells us that leadership and HR are either hiring the wrong people or hiring the right people, . but not setting them up for success. The CRO and CFO have both stepped down. Motive should feel very lucky that the people who have stayed are still there. I assume majority are hanging on until they find something better. Targets (including enterprise) are not being met across the org, not because people are not working hard enough, but because folks remaining are overworked, underpaid and set up to fail.

Cons Far Outweigh the Pros

Pros

Motive is an interesting place to work and your experience will vary greatly depending on the team you join. There are some truly kind, smart and hardworking folks across all departments and the product is strong. Compensation is fairly competitive, though not the best. Colleagues tend to form connections via chatting about how messed up parts of the business are.

Cons

Unfortunately, the cons outweigh the pros. Don't believe any of the titles at Motive because they don't actually represent the abilities of the individual. The company is very much a top-down leadership org where the CEO/CRO make the majority of calls with little or no input from the front lines. If you're looking for a place where your ideas are heard, considered and you have a general sense of belonging to a common goal/mission, steer clear. Despite your best efforts and, generally speaking, no matter how great your contributions and impact on the business, it's almost guaranteed you will receive no recognition. Fun stuff. DEI is a joke and, as others have noted, a box the company checks. Do not believe any of the awards Motive has received because none of it is representative of what the company is actually like. Women often feel like they have no voice (read the reviews) and, in my experience, do not stick around long. If you're in leadership, get ready for a variety of weekly, monthly and quarterly updates that are repetitive and detract from getting actual work done. This is an extension of the need for executive leadership to know everything, so they can make calls that affect the lives of others with zero input from the experts running the teams.

Pros

Swag, onboarding, good support and processes.

Cons

This company is not ready for the Enterprise Market. It just does not have the integrations or history that Enterprise level customer's want. Everything here is an uphill battle. We are Motive, formerly known as KeepTruckin. Company has had such bad brand recognition that they needed to change their name. Also layoffs are around every corner. Its sad because alot of people are laid off here without cause. It's also not their fault given the brand name of the company has closed so many doors with prospects before the conversation even starts. Cons: - Minimal Integrations with TMS providers - If the Integration with a TMS provider does exist, it's minimal and a "complete" integration. -No trust from the Enterprise Space. We're a great fit for owner operators, 1 or two person companies. Not large 1000+ truck fleets. -The FMCSA has suggested that Motive/KeepTruckin be removed from the list of approved ELD Providers. Customer's bring this up all the time and a hard selling point. We don't even know what an AOBRD device is. -Good luck hitting quota. Investors want us to be selling to the enterprise space but we're a far way away from that. Don't believe me? Just look at our reference customer stories. 90% of them are from 5-9 truck fleets. Our competitors don't even touch those. Overall bad news bears. I would stay away.
