Pros

If you have a brain and can write your name, you can get a job here because they are desperate for help. You don't even have to be a musician! They give you money, too!

Cons

This company has not created a sturdy infrastructure to handle the fast growth. New hires are trained too quickly, therefore making the quality of customer service very poor. The work is much more demanding than the pay, and there is rarely positive feedback. This has become a very dysfunctional shell of what the company once was now that it is owned by Big Brother, Bain Capital.

Pros

You are free to instruct your lessons your own way. You can also communicate directly to your students and their families to work out schedules and makeups on your own. It's awesome that you don't have to deal with the payments from people. They are put on auto pay and that's that, you get your money. I liked having access to all the books in the store to view new material, and, or, sell to a student for use in lessons.

Cons

They take 1/3 of your pay!!! Such robbery! Most teachers in the new pay system use the store to build a client base and then walk away with the majority of their students so they can earn all they make. Also, the stores have gotten very corporate. They will attempt to schedule students 6 hours straight, back to back, without allowing you a 30 minute break to eat or anything else. I was told "well we assume most days someone will cancel a lesson, and you can take a break then". Awful. Aside from those grips though, it's still a good place to start out.

A career killer of an organization!

Pros

There are no pros to this place. Owned by Bain Capital. No morals, no integrity.

Cons

Low salary, Long hours. District and regional managers are out of touch with the realities of day to day store operations. Store are lightly staffed and the employees are poorly compensated. Bonus's are impossible to reach unless you are in a firmly established location. No advertising is done so Corporate expects the store to market itself but they do not provide internet access or any of the necessary tools to do so. A poorly run organization.
