Pros

This is a job that becomes your life if you let it...with these kind of products, you can look at yourself in the mirror everyday and really believe that you are saving people from getting cancer. That alone was the reason I took a sales position pay cut to come here. If you are a stellar sales person, and liked by your manager, you have the opportunity to get recognized and move up. President's Club trips are great, and if you have a great supportive manager, you have opportunities year-round to shine!

Cons

Pay is low compared to other oncology sales positions. They insinuate that there is no ceiling for commission, but out of the 6 years I have been here, there have been at least 3 years where the commission has been negligible due to the company's base commission amount. A big reason I also came to Myriad was the "small company" feel to it. Your ideas and voice could be heard, Mark Capone knew you by name and we prided ourselves on not being Big Pharma. That has all changed. You never hear from upper management, everything is now officially passed down the ranks. The family feel we once had has been replaced with Big Pharma who only care about looking good and checking the boxes. It is really, really sad.

Pros

they had good reward system called Awardco and WFH was nice

Cons

manager walked over me, made me work extremely long hours while she was sleeping and taking every other day off for some emergency or power outage. literally always something where she couldn't work. late to every single meeting. those meeting i never felt comfortable, it was a very selfish meeting on the manager. always bragging about her vacations when she hardly ever didn't have time off somewhere. brings fast food almost everyday and uses that as why she was late being onsite. very disorganized and dysfunctional department of 2 ladies who think they are the top dogs when they don't even want to listen to you or continually belittle you and make you feel like a child. i had no trust from them, towards the end i spoke up about having help with rotational Friday since i work late every single Friday because the manager wanted a day off every week for her bf. i never got a chance to talk to her about it because she ignored my messages. in the end they began took work from me so the trust was broken. i was the best worker they had, they said that multiple times to my face. and had gotten awards for it. i eventually left after being treated with most disrespect i've ever received from a company let alone a manager of a whole department before. i had worked in other areas of this company too and had no issues whatsoever and made friends in those other areas. it's insane how disrespectful this particular manager was and there was no hope. be careful of this position. they begged me to accept it in the beginning and i should've taken that as a huge red flag.

Awful

Pros

Free genetic testing and Awardco points

Cons

Training is minimal, departments are constantly passing the blame onto others and it’s usually the supervisors encouraging it, there is a ‘not my problem’ mentality with a lot of staff including upper management, supervisors gossip and talk poorly about employees to other employees, supervisors share personal employee information with other employees, some supervisors will scold you and belittle you then try to act as a best friend-it’s narcissistic and abusive, you are told that the company comes first yet they try to say they’re supportive of a work life balance, supervisors bash the CEO openly, their resource program for finding policies is archaic and impossible to navigate, trying to get ahold of someone in HR on the phone is impossible. Make sure you double check your last paycheck, trying to correct it after you leave is impossible and nobody cares. Myriad has not actually made money in years yet the CEO had an income reported of over 10 million though it did include stocks which will surely be worth nothing eventually.
