Pros

I worked at NBC Universal for nearly 4 years in the information services department. It's a great company with really good benefits, perks and occasional celebrity sightings. The campus was nice and the Universal Studios park was just up the hill.

Cons

The company is just too big and convoluted and there are people there just collecting a paycheck and not really adding any value. I felt the technology was old and out of date for such a big media company. In my department the people was nice but I didn't feel like my tech skills match with what I expected to be doing. I was hired as a developer but there was not much development work. That made me insecure as I didn't feel like I was earning my paycheck. My management was content was maintaining status quo but never tried to push innovation or new development. I eventually left because I didn't see a future there and no growth opportunities. And after nearly 4 years I never saw the impact of the work that I did. It's too bad because the company has the potential to be really something special.

Pros

Nothing other than the company name

Cons

Terrible, unwelcoming team. Micromanaging and no ability to work independently and make an impact. Owned Station division is terrible, this is not necessarily the case for other teams.
