Pros

They are flexible with family work balance

Cons

Don't give employees opportunity to speak up, and when they do they don't listen.

Pros

Benefits package is decent, people are nice, and the overall goal at upper management level is admirable (yet unrealistic as it is all talk with no walk)

Cons

If NFP acquires your agency, abort immediately unless you want to live through an on boarding process to the NFP life that is full of empty promises. You will have no support from management because they ore overworked, managing their own books of business while trying to juggle management duties and your head will be spinning there is so much to do, with not enough time. When you express your obstacles to management they tell you how great of a job you are doing and that they will get you assistance soon. 2 years later and still no help. They have no standard procedures to make sure your office is following NFP’s expectations. They finally set you up with there technology and it always has problems. If your office uses a different agency management system, even if it is EPIC, they take forever to roll your accounts into their system. When they do, it is with very little warning, and in the case of our office was right at a heavy renewal season. So they have no one in other offices to provide assistance on your accounts (something that was promised). When they finally did have some support, the people would do it wrong so we’d have to fix the mistakes. They also have no easy way to track your offices sales and retention so they expect you to dissect your book and create ridiculous spreadsheets. The management of the office we reported to all quit or were let go, except for one person, who was a fantastic person. But, she was tasked with the duties of all of the other managers, so now she really had no time to answer your calls or respond to your emails. Overall, it is a long transition and it could have been so much better. I am so happy to no longer work for NFP.
