Pros

Good benefits and close to home..

Cons

This is as poorly managed and executed business/project I have encountered in my 30+ years of my career. I have seen supervisors walked out in handcuffs to be promoted to managers afterwards. I have witnessed many people not have to show up or let alone work because there is no accountability. There are people in this enlightened time who are in positions of authority who run roughshod over subordinates. Shady business deals that go unnoticed because there is a lack of oversight. Massive waste of taxpayer monies and when attention is drawn to the waste you are chastised. Science is still in the conceptual stage doing trial and error and on the run adjustments. We have lost so many real good people including top level people, good scientists, business support people, logistics support personnel, educational innovators and administrative go getters. People who cared about the project, about efficiency, asset management and accountability. There are still a few good people left here but they are outnumbered by the people just feeding at the public trough.

Some good, mostly bad

Pros

Great benefits, fun friendly people.

Cons

Poorly managed, engineering process fundamentally flawed, constantly frustrated by faulty management decisions, and, perhaps the most important, NEON is essentially prohibited from the possibility of doing a good job due to the NSF's (and govt's) large project management policies. If I had the authority, I would cancel the project and possibly reboot it with a lot of things done differently.

Pretty awful

Pros

Great mission, great people, good benefits, and generally family friendly environment. Attitude tends to be flexible and open as long as the work is getting done.

Cons

Leadership is seriously challenged and in over their heads and morale is down across the board. Nobody is comfortable or confident right now.
