Pros

The vision and motivation behind the project is highly inspiring.

Cons

The project has a great vision and tremendous potential, but the execution is horrendous. There is terrible communication within the company, which results in rampant dysfunction and employee dissatisfaction. The organization is poorly managed, which is reflected in the staggeringly high employee turnover rate. The organization is mired down in bureaucracy and wasteful with tax payer money which could be better spent by funding other scientific pursuits.

Pros

The potential for discovery is enormous. I was actually proud to be part of this project.

Cons

The execution of this project from the top down was a total failure. It was poorly organized and equipped, improperly staffed & disastrously managed.

Pros

None. If you are a job seeker, seek elsewhere. I'm surprised that NSF doesn't check these reviews and move this operation to an institution that has experience running large scale ecological projects. Science jobs are not easy to find, I'm only hanging on till a better opportunity comes up.

Cons

Easily the most poorly executed project I've had the misfortune to be a part of. I have worked for non profits before, and yes they are not the most effective. But I'm yet to see such colossal waste of tax payer money. The only people that get ahead are the ones that shamelessly suck up to every middle level manager. The only people that stay are those that are too incompetent or lazy to get a position elsewhere.
