Pros
Great co-workers and variable daily tasks. The company is slowly improving ability to communicate with employees in other remote locations to help troubleshoot issues. Benefits are great - healthcare package is so-so but affordable and 4 weeks PTO (if your supervisor lets you take it).
Cons
Poor communication with headquarters in Boulder, CO to remote domains (Alaska - Puerto Rico). Quickly changing demands and expectations from field crews with little to no advanced notice. Every week is a surprise as to what crazy thing we'll be told to do. Sites are put online and people are hired BEFORE permitting even goes through - resulting in many seasonal and full-time techs getting 40 hours of reading protocols or twiddling their thumbs. Little to no standardized guidelines for remote domains on how to manage or organize field crews. No management training for full-time techs (they're just supposed to figure out how to be quality managers when many are fresh out of their BS degrees). No real regulation or standardization for Domain managers treatment of employees.
