Pros

Great benefits, easy work, easy to blend in, no accountability, don't have to be smart - just follow blindly the inept management and they will love you.

Cons

Unchallenging work. If you are smart and question the inept management, they will label you as a black sheep or "toxic". No advancement opportunity. Skills actually degrade. No communication between groups. Other than collecting a paycheck, there's no real reason to work here.

Pros

The mission of capturing US regional ecological data is worthwhile and inspires much of the staff. The scope of work is comprehensive as air, water, land, animal and plant are all part of this 30 year experiment.

Cons

The science is solid however the in-house engineering efforts are amateurish with reluctance to admit either technology and/or knowledge are currently exceeded by the scientific requirements. The Senior management team has little to no experience in managing a project of this scope as it encompasses R&D, Manufacturing, Product Life-Cycle Management and Field Installations and Maintenance.
