Pros

Great flexibility, culture is much more accepting of life challenges compared to consulting and other service first organizations

Cons

As a regulated utility there is little incentive to be drive hard efficiencies, more risk aversion than pragmatism, supporting functions (especially IT) is terribly inefficient and disconnected from electric and gas businesses

Pros

Decent pay compared to non utility jobs

Cons

Usual corporate issues. Leadership states they care, but need to make decisions based on business. Hard to move around the company. Offers to shadow other organizations to get experience, but that will never get you a job.
