Pros

It's a large company. It is a good place to work for younger workers starting their career. If you show initiative and drive, you will likely be given opportunities to advance. The benefit package is very competitive.

Cons

National Grid is a very frustrating place to work for anyone who has been there for a while. Constant churn of leadership and a trend to fill leadership positions with people who do not know the fundamentals of the business. The company has a hard time getting basic work done while new executives try to build their reputations with new "innovative" ideas. Innovation is great, but you still need to keep the shop open, the lights on, and the gas flowing. Seems we can't do that anymore. Nobody is going to get rewarded for doing the core business well and efficiently. I don't think leadership could even recognize it when it happens.

Pros

Good pay. Good hours.

Cons

Not a lot of room for advancement. It seems like all the jobs are being relocated to the Reswoods location

Pros

Large Organization with a lot of exposure to a true professional environment. Excellent colleagues with diverse and impressive backgrounds. Employees generally well managed and taken care of

Cons

Compensation and Opportunity for advancement can be limited. Employ review process complicated and lengthy and can feel like your a statistic not a person. Moving on ideas or programs challenging because of the size of the organization.
