After 3.5 years with the company in an operations support role, I was pulled into a conference room and told my position was eliminated due to restructuring and that I was no longer employed there effective immediately. I was in shock. They wouldn't let me talk to anyone or even clear out my desk. That was it. And it was literally the day after my annual review with my boss which was all positive. My boss at the time did not even know I was getting laid off.

They will pay a newcomer more than they pay their tenured employees. There are yearly cost-of-living increases but no merit increases based on great performance. Constantly ask for “more” assigning more responsibilities and stating no title change or merit increases until you prove your worth. The prior leader of the sales team was a tyrant who played severe favorites and claimed an “open door policy” which couldn’t be further from the truth. CEO turned over twice in less than five years. The company has an identity crisis that they’re hopefully sorting out.
