Pros

I was new to the industry when I began working at Navarro and had a lot to learn about the work. I have found everyone around me, both managers and co-workers, to be very open, supportive, and patient with me during the learning process. The managers are passionate about the business and set an example for the rest of the company with their tremendous work ethic.

Cons

I would have liked to have learned more about the industry and business during training/orientation.

Successful Small Business

Pros

Navarro has become a major small business Federal contractor. As the company has grown, the areas of expertise has widen. What started out as a DOE support contractor with a focus on nuclear safety is now a government wide contractor with exceptional performance in areas of environmental/waste management, counterintelligence, emergency response, defense logistics, nonproliferation, and process/operations in numerous agencies and military bases. The company President has keen insight and business intuition to successfully win contracts and ensure outstanding performance results. I have personally been associated with 15 different projects/programs in the 8+ years I have been with Navarro.? The work is challenging and very dynamic. As a result of being a small business, typical bureaucracy found in a large organization does not exist. If warranted, the President is available and willing to help with anything. Navarro has a corporate support staff providing HR, Accounting, Payroll and Recruiting support which allows for consistency throughout the company regardless of the physical location. Navarro's number one maxim is the customer comes first. For those assigned to a project, the customer is the client (i.e., whoever holds the contract). For employees in a corporate function, it is the project deployed employees. Everyone works under the same set of expectations and are expected to be responsive to the customer's needs.

Cons

With all of the work dependent upon the Federal budget, job security is not guaranteed and at times difficult decisions must be made dependent upon what is best for the company.
