Pros

DWYER FAMILY has worked to turn the company around but is no more than a spokeswoman now. The Code of Values is great in theory, but rarely carried out in the sales department. Franchisees are incredible and make it worth it. Income potential is good for Waco area but lower than franchise sales industry average.

Cons

Sales department is a revolving door. Leadership is outdated and not up to date with the franchise sales norm. Most companies allow you to work from home, but top leader in sales department is a micromanager that has to continually prove he's necessary, when in reality he holds the company back. Insurance benefits are less than acceptable, unless your spouse can provide family coverage, you'll be shelling out about $1200 a month on premiums alone. "EBITDA" is the #1 priority, so if that means cutting resources to the sales teams, they don't care until you can't make your goals then its too late. Sales training has declined and new employees are left to lean on team mates taking time away from the overall productivity. Changes are made with knee-jerk reactions and not thought through. Success or failure is directly related to the team lead and their dedication to their employees or lack thereof.

Pros

adequate on-site gym, next to river if you like running or walking during your breaks

Cons

No growth potential, worst benefits package I've ever seen( very few paid holidays, less than two weeks of PTO, and 1% company 401k matching with a plan that charges YOU for its management fees!), outdated policies that don't reflect the needs and desires of the new workforce (millennials... beware), and a management team that treats its staff as if they should be lucky to be employed.

Thank you for your feedback; we are sorry you did not have a good experience while at Dwyer Group! Many of the things mentioned are initiatives that are being worked on as a growing organization. We are aware and excited that Waco is also a growing market, and is becoming increasingly more competitive.

Pros

Dwyer has a Code of Values that, for the most part, the employees attempt to live by. This is a good thing as it is a basic outline of living by the Golden Rule--"treat others as you would like to be treated."

Cons

Watch your back. You will be prevented from doing your job by those who are afraid that you will not be dependent on them. Your work will be micromanaged and sabotaged. You must commit intellectual suicide to work here. High turn-over rate. Very, very expensive health insurance. Comparatively low pay.
