Marketing Needs a Dramatic Overhaul

Pros

I had the privilege of working with a talented group of coworkers and the new CEO shows a strong understanding of the challenges ahead.

Cons

One of the most pressing issues was the toxic atmosphere created by marketing leadership. Leadership often employed gaslighting tactics, making it difficult for employees to voice concerns or feel valued in their roles. This manipulation, coupled with unrealistic workload expectations, leads to burnout among team members. It was disheartening to see dedicated employees being overworked and under-appreciated while others were allowed to remain complacent, receiving compensation for minimal effort. Additionally, the high turnover rate in the marketing department is alarming and speaks volumes about the underlying issues. Departures are frequent, yet there seems to be a lack of genuine effort from management to address the culture or to retain talent. High turnover not only disrupts team dynamics but also jeopardizes project continuity and franchise owner growth.

Thank you for your candid feedback regarding challenges within the marketing department, We acknowledge your concerns and it is our priority to foster a culture where every associate feels valued and heard. Since you left your review, our new CMO has worked very hard to evaluate the needs of the team and has made several changes that will have positive lasting impacts on the marketing department. We recognize the importance of open communication and encourage all team members to share their thoughts and concerns with their manager or People Services. Thank you again for your valuable input.

Pros

While I barely had $ left over since they pay is so poor, I guess my lights were kept on.

Cons

*Please see that they are hiring like crazy on linked in for this job- THERE IS A REASON* This is not a marketing job, this is a customer service job with a never ending list of admin tasks and yes, that includes never feeling satisfied from work. What they don’t tell you (one thing of many) is you don’t get to pick which brand you will be on, and most of the franchise owners hate the brands anyways. The operations team will not support you and it’s always a push and pull of who looks the best to the owners. You will be yelled at externally and nobody internally will care. Then you’ll be expected to meet with those same angry customers with the same answers they don’t like because nothing ever improves. And surprise you get to talk to them every single month and pray they don’t give you a bad feedback rating. You also have to speak on stage in front of all these keyboard warriors and act like they haven’t been disrespectful to you every other day of the year. I didn’t meet 1 person on my team who knew what they were doing. Including my boss. I cried to them and their boss multiple times and it was always a bandaid fix. I dreaded work every day and my paycheck was a joke. Code of values is a joke, someone YEARS older than me was blatantly disrespecting me and nothing was ever done. And yes, you will get thrown under the bus by management and coworkers so their job isn’t in jeopardy.

Pros

Starting salary adequate, remote first

Cons

All POC should be wary of this place. 98% white and if you are any other color your actions will be scrutinized heavier than your white counterparts. Zero work life balance although wfh. Meetings take up 70% of workday making it impossible to complete tasks. Job market is rough so I will not be leaving until I land a new role but my bags are packed.
