Pros
Like the title says, great company culture and pay is highly competitive. The company is also growing rapidly so there’s lots of opportunity for professional growth. And, personal lives/work-life-balance are highly valued so you never feel guilty about taking a break to recollect and come back. It’s a fast-paced environment, but not so fast paced that it’s unsustainable. It’s like having the novelty and some of the authority and flexibility that you would have at a start-up but with more security. It really is a happy medium.
Cons
The company has some catching up to do with parental leave. You get two weeks paid and the rest is FMLA + short term disability. If you’re a person who’s considering having baby then make sure to plan ahead for 6-8 weeks of only a fraction of your salary and then no pay for the remainder of leave. The good news is that HR is working on a solution but there hasn’t been a commitment to implementing a new policy anytime soon. So for now you’ll have to deal with an outdated policy. And of course diversity in upper management positions is pretty lacking. It’s heading in the right direction but there’s still work to do.
